Parmly, Myers tie in par 3 tourney
Terri Parmly and Harriette Myers tied with a 57 net score in the Ladies Golf Association's par 3 tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club.
Eileen Owens and Robin Davis tied for third at 61.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Myers (No. 5), Alice Temm (No. 8), Carol Largent (No. 11) and Parmly (No. 13).
Hedden records hole in one
Cape Girardeau's Bob Hedden used a gap wedge to ace hole No. 4 at Kimbeland Country Club on Tuesday.
The hole was playing 115 yards, and it was the fifth hole in one of Hedden's career.
Ray Moore, Harry George and Gene Thompson witnessed the shot.
Dalhousie wins AJGA honor
Dalhousie Golf Club was the first repeat winner of the American Junior Golf Association's tournament of the year award.
Dalhousie hosted the Dalhousie Junior Championship from Aug. 11 to 14.
"On behalf of all the members and staff at the Dalhousie Golf Club, we are honored to be the first club recognized as the AJGA's tournament of the year two years in a row," Dalhousie managing member Cord Dombrowski said in a statement. "This esteemed award is truly a testament to everyone's efforts to make the Dalhousie Junior Championship a memorable and prestigious event for all involved."
The tournament was recognized for showcasing the AJGA, its members, sponsors and host facility better than any other tournament.
Dalhousie will host the AJGA's Rolex Tournament of Champions from June 30 to July 4.
