Bryant tops Bass Busters event at Wappapello

Kevin Bryant of Cape Girardeau won the Bass Busters fishing tournament Sunday at Lake Wappapello.

Bryant located his fish on main-river channel flats and points. He used a quarter-ounce chrome rattle trap and a small spinnerbait to catch them.

Brad Noel of Jackson was second after targeting similar areas, but he used a Southern Pro Tube and spinnerbaits to catch his fish.

Bryant won big bass honors for his biggest fish, which was caught on a spinnerbait.

The lake was 57 degrees and 3 feet below summer pool. Weather was sunny with a high of 75 and a light southeastern wind.
