Shetley wins title at Jammin' Juniors

Kate Shetley won the girls 18-and-younger division at the Jammin' Juniors tennis tournament Friday at Notre Dame Regional High School.

Shetley defeated Lindsey Burgess 6-0, 6-0 for the title.

In girls 15 and younger, Grace Powderly defeated Taylor Kohlfeld 6-1, 6-4 for first place. Kennat Woolsey swept Paige Gurshuny, 6-1, 6-0, to win girls 12 and under.

Alex England defeated Alejandro Rivas 6-3, 6-0 to claim first in boys 15 and younger.

Otto Porter to host camp at SCC

Former Scott CountyCentral star and current Washington Wizards forward Otto Porter will be headlining the Scott CountyCentral All Schools Foundation Basketball Camp Aug. 8 and 9 at Ronnie Cookson Gymnasium in Morley, Missouri.

Porter, along with Hall of Fame coach Ronnie Cookson and current SCC coach Frank Staple, will be on hand to teach grades 7 to 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $30 per player and will include a shirt.

A consession stand will be available from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Parents will be allowed to observe. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. the day of the event. All proceeds will go to the SCC All Schools Foundation.

O'Hare team wins Dalhousie scramble

The team of Eric O'Hare, Dusty Catoor, Kyle Carslile and David Gelsheimer shot a 54 to win a four-person scramble at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Five shots back were the teams of Terry Farrow, Larry McKinney, Mark Allen and Tim Coad, and Bill Morrow, Kurt Schlogl, Aaron Dombrowski and Adam Hadler.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Chris Monroe (No. 5), Morrow (No. 8), Kevin Patterson (No. 11) and Allen Willison (No. 13).
