Austin Putty used a 9-iron to record a hole in one on hole No. 8 at Cape Girardeau Country Club.

The hole was playing 135 yards.

Phil Moore, Phil Cantoni and Aaron Painton witnessed the shot.

Team shoots 17-under to win schamble

The team of Ron Kirby, Bob Hand, Jerry Bushelman and Bill White Sr. shot 17-under par to win the four-person schamble Saturday at Cape Girardeau Country Club.

The team of Fred Ducharme, Ron Herr, Randy Morse, Howard Dillard and Bill Kiel tied the team of Lance Cotner, Ben Eller, Irene Thomas and Ron Underwood for second place.

Closest to the pin winners were Steve Rider, Dillard, Betty Michel, Cotner, Joe McKeon and Hand.
