* Jackson league registration: The Jackson Boys Baseball League will hold registration from 1 to 4 p.m. today and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Jackson City Hall community room, which is located on the third floor above the library. Forms also are available at www.jblbaseball.org.

* Chaffee Jr. Babe Ruth meeting: The SEMO South Jr. Babe Ruth summer baseball league will have a meeting at 7 p.m. March 17 at the Chaffee City Hall. The meeting is for coaches interested in having a team in the league this year. The league is open to boys ages 13 to 15 (as of April 30, 2011). Info: Mitchell Dooley, 270-0963.

Basketball

* Doctors vs. Lawyers game: The 18th annual Doctors vs. Lawyers basketball game will take place 5 p.m. March 12 at the Central Junior High gym. Golf

* Shrine Club tournament: The Cape Girardeau Shrine Club's 16th annual golf scramble will take place at 1 p.m. May 20 at Bent Creek Golf Course. Cost: $80 per person, which includes lunch from noon to 12:45 p.m., 18 holes and a cart. Deadline: May 13. Info: Eddie Schreiner, 243-5503.

* Sign-up day: Southeast SportsCare will host a sign-up day for parents to register their children for spring and summer sports activities. Parents can register their children for softball, baseball, youth golf, swimming and other activities. The sign-up day will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 12 at the Osage Community Centre. * Mardi Gras 5K: The Notre Dame FCCLA will hold its third annual Mardi Gras 5K walk/run 9 a.m. Saturday at the St. Vincent de Paul Center. Registration will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Cost: $15.
