Cape youth registration: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is holding registration for the 2013 summer youth baseball leagues until March 15. The leagues are for boys ages 5 to 12 years old. Entry fee: $55 for ages 5 to 8; $65 for ages 9 to 12. Registration forms are available at A. C. Jackson youth registration: The Jackson Baseball League will hold signups for youth ages 5 to 19 on Feb. 23, 24 and 27 at the Community Room at Jackson City Hall. Central hall of fame: Nominations are being accepted for the Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. March 31. Nominations should include an accurate and complete resume of the nominee's athletic accomplishments. Information submitted also should include honors received and the years the student lettered in sports. Running

Track club registration: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is taking signups for its youth track club for ages 6 to 14. The club will have practices and compete in meets around the area. Competition will be in sprint and distance running as well as jumping events. The season is from March 26 to May 11. Practices are from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meets will be on Thursdays and Saturdays. Practices and home meets will be held at the Central Junior High track. Children can be registered at A. C. Brase Arena or at the first day of practice, through March 26. Cost: $50 for one child with a $5 discount for additional children. Jackson youth signups: Registration for the Jackson Girls Softball League are currently being held. Divisions are: T-Ball for ages 5 and 6; coach pitch for ages 7 and 8; 10 and younger; 12 and younger; 14 and younger; and 18 and younger. Cost: $45 for T-ball or coach pitch; $50 for U-10 and U-12; and $55 for U-14 and U-18. Registration by mail must be postmarked on or before March 5. Cape youth signups: Registration for the City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department's Girls Youth Softball League will be held until April 10. Girls fastpitch league: The City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is forming its girls fastpitch league. The league will have four age groups: 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U. Tennis festival: The Cape Area Tennis Association will hold a tennis festival March 9 at Class Act Family Tennis Center in Jackson. The festival is for intermediate players (ages 9 to 14) from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., and for beginning players (ages 6 to 10) from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Cost: $10. Info: Donna Ryan, 332-1614.

Volleyball

Coed tournament: The City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its 16th Annual Osage Invitational Coed Volleyball Tournament on March 3 at the Osage Centre. Must be age 18 or over to participate. Registration deadline is noon Feb. 28. Cost: $60 per team. Info: Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department, 339-6340.

Cape summer leagues: The City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host a high school summer volleyball league for junior high, JV and varsity teams. The league will last from June 5 to July 31. Games will be played from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays at the Osage Centre and A.C. Brase Arena. The league will follow Missouri State High School Activities Association rules. There are no uniform requirements and coaches are allowed to coach their high school or junior high teams.
