Basketball

  • Southeast Missouri State girls camps: The Southeast Missouri State women's basketball program will host three camps conducted by Southeast coach John Ishee, his assistants, Redhawks players, and other coaches and players from the region. A skills camp for grades 3 through 12 will be June 2 through 5. Cost: $140, with lunch provided daily. A team camp for high school varsity, high school junior varsity, junior high school and club teams will be June 13 and 14. Cost: $175, with dorm and meals included. There is a team rate of $300 (12 players maximum), with teams providing their own room and board. An elite camp for grades 8 through 12 will be June 20 through 22. Cost: $110, or $145 with lunch and dinner, or $200 with all meals and dorm. Info: 986-6168 or 651-2113.
  • Girls camp: Jackson will host a summer camp from June 2 to 5 at the multipurpose field house at the high school. Coach Sheila Haertling will lead the camp. The camp for girls entering grades 3 to 5 will run from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The camp for girls entering grades 6 and 7 will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The camp for girls entering grades 8 and 9 will run from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Cost: $40, which includes a basketball and T-shirt. Golf

  • United Way tournament: The United Way of Southeast Missouri will hold its 21st annual golf tournament May 30 at Cape Girardeau Country Club. It will use a four-person scramble format and begin at noon. Cost: $100 per person, which includes cart, greens fees, lunch and prizes. Deadline: Friday.   • Chaffee Booster Club: The Chaffee Booster Club will hold its inaugural golf tournament May 30 at the Sikeston Bootheel Golf Club. Registration for the four-person scramble will begin at 11:30 a.m., with lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Cost: $65 per person, which includes golf, cart, range balls and lunch. Track and field

  • Hershey's Track and Field Games: The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will host the 19th annual Hershey's Track and Field meet at the Central Junior High on Wednesday. The event begins at 5 p.m., with registration from 4 to 4:45 p.m. The event is open to boys and girls between the ages 9 and 14. Each participant may enter up to three events, with a maximum of two track events. Cost: $2.50 per child, and it's open to all children in Southeast Missouri. Volleyball

  • Jackson camps: Jackson High School volleyball coach Maile Gannon will conduct camps this summer for girls entering grades 4 through 12. A skill development camp will be held June 2 to 4 at the Jackson Junior High gymnasium; grades 4 through 6 will meet from 8 to 9:30 a.m.; grades 7 and 8 will meet from 1 to 3 p.m.; cost: $40; deadline: Friday. A high school camp for grades 9 to 12 will be held June 2 to 4 at the Junior High from 10 a.m. to noon; cost: $30; deadline: Friday. A high school preseason preparation camp for grades 9 through 12 will be held July 28 to 31 at the Junior High; camp will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; cost: $25; deadline: July 20.
