AREA BRIEFS: JACKSON HOMECOMER RACE

The second annual Jackson Homecomer Race, sponsored by the Jackson Parks & Recreation Department, will be held Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m..

There will be a 5K race and a one-mile youth race. The location will be the Medicap Parking Lot on the corner of Washington and Missouri streets in Jackson.

Age groups for males are 14-under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59 and 60-over. Age groups for females are 19-under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49 and 50-over. The one-mile youth race is for ages 8-12.

Entry fee is $8 if pre-registered by Aug. 14 or $10 on race day. There is also a family discount, with a $6 entry fee for three or more pre-registered family members.

Packet pickup will be Aug. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jackson City Pool, or Aug. 17 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the race site.
