Leon Eftink made his second career hole-in-one Monday at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Eftink used a 6-iron to ace No. 13, a par 3 playing 142 yards, during the Memorial Day Couples Scramble. Witnesses were Mary Jane Eftink, Jeff Duepner and Beth Duepner.

Soutars, Younghouses win Couples Scramble

Ian Soutar, Corrine Soutar, Rob Younghouse and Laura Younghouse shot a 64 to win the Memorial Day Couples Scramble at Dalhousie Golf Club.

The foursome finished one shot ahead of the team of Clay Crosson, Sheila Crosson, Forrest Wegge and Heather Wegge.

Tom Metheny, Bev Metheny, Bob Denton and Barb Denton won A flight with a 65.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Tom Metheny (No. 5), Mary Jane Eftink (No. 8), Bob Denton (No. 11) and Leon Eftink (No. 13).

The Soutars and Younghouses tied for low putts with 18.

Cape Junior Legion falls in title game

The Cape Girardeau Post 63 Junior Legion baseball team fell 3-0 to Festus in the championship game of the Jackson American Legion Memorial Day tournament Sunday.

Losing pitcher Kyle Fitzgerald allowed four hits in a complete-game performance. He struck out one and walked three.

Cape (2-2) had three hits in the loss.

Long wins WGA event at Cape Girardeau C.C.

Vicki Long was the medalist at the Women's Golf Association's weekly event, which was Beat the Pro.

Others who beat the pro were Beth Mapes, Shirley Moore, Irene Thomas, Marcia Wagner and Janet White.
