Home Builders golf tourney

The Fifth Annual SEMO Home Builders Association Classic Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 8 at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson.

The event is a four-person scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

Prizes will be available, including such give-a-ways as $10,000 cash and a 1997 Yamaha golf cart for a hole-in-one.

Shawnee's Golf Day Classic

The Shawnee Community College Foundation will hold its 10th Annual Golf Day Classic July 25 at The Gambit Golf Course in Vienna, Ill.

Entry fee for the three-person scramble is $100 per person, which includes green fee, cart, lunch, gifts and refreshments.

Kohlfeld Capahas raffle

The Kohlfeld Capahas are raffling tickets to help defray cost for this year's trip to the NBC World Series in Wichita, Kan.

Cost of the tickets are $5 or six for $25. A maximum of 300 tickets will be sold.

First place will receive four St. Louis Rams tickets and a night's stay at the Drury Inn in St. Louis. Second place will receive two St. Louis Blues tickets. Additional items will also be awarded.

Tickets are available through Capahas players and Howard's Sporting Goods.

Jackson soccer registration

Registration will be held at the following places and dates for the JAOSA Fall Soccer League for youths:

Sat., Aug. 2, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. at Delmonico's in Jackson.

Sat., Aug. 9, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the lower level of the Jackson Elk's Lodge.

CAYSA fall registration

Signups for the fall registration of the Cape Area Youth Soccer Association (CAYSA) will be held July 27 from noon-5 p.m. at West Park Mall.

Registration is $20 ($10 for pre-kindergarten).

SEMO Soccer Club tryouts

The date for the SEMO Soccer Club U-13 tryout has been changed to July 23 at the Jackson Junior High School soccer field.

The tryout will be held from 6-8 p.m. All boys born on or after Aug. 1, 1984 are eligible to participate.
