FIRST TEAM

Darnell Wilks,

Central, junior

* The 6-foot-8 Wilks is one of the most athletic players in Southeast Missouri with the ability to play above the rim, shoot 3-pointers or pop in fadeaway jumpers. In his second season with the Tigers, Wilks averaged 19 points a game. Wilks recorded a late-season triple-double against Dexter. An ally-oop dunk by Wilks against Farmington in the district tournament was one of the top plays of the basketball season.

Alex Ressel,

Notre Dame, senior

* Ressel's consistent scoring down low helped make the Bulldogs one of Southeast Missouri's top teams throughout the season. While standing just 6-3, Ressel used a variety of low-post moves to lead Notre Dame in scoring at 15.5 points a game. Ressel earned first-team all-conference and all-region honors this season and was named second-team all-state.

Will Bogan,

Bell City, junior

* The 6-foot-10 Bell City junior made his presence felt in a big way in his first season of high school basketball. Bogan, who made a commitment in early February to the University of Memphis, averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds in helping the Cubs make it to the Class 1 championship game.

D.D. Gillespie,

Scott County Central, sophomore

* Gillespie followed coach David Heeb from Bell City to Scott County Central, and proceeded to double his scoring average from a year ago. After averaging 11 points for a balanced Bell City team as a freshman, Gillespie averaged 22.7 points and led the Braves to their third-straight district title. Gillespie, a 5-10 guard, was a stable player for a team that lost a lot of talent from last year and incorporated a number of young players into the rotation this year.

Ryan Willen,

Notre Dame, sophomore

* It did not take long for Ryan Willen to step outside older brother Bryce Willen's shadow, as the Bulldogs sophomore averaged 14 points and nearly nine rebounds a game. Ryan Willen was Notre Dame's top player down the stretch, as the 6-5 forward found ways to score both inside and from 3-point range. Willen earned first-team all-district and all-region honors.

Second team

Nick Niemczyk, Bell City, sophomore

Aaron Redecker, Jackson, senior

Alex Steil, Advance, junior

Anthony Bollinger, Meadow Heights, senior

Waylon Richardet, St. Vincent, senior
