POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Advance used a quick start to advance past Meadow Heights 79-60 and into the finals of the Class 2, District 2 tournament.
Advance (21-7) held Meadow Heights to just 10 points in the first quarter with heavy pressure defense. Easy baskets off of turnovers gave Advance a 28-10 lead after the first.
Joey Bell scored 13 of his 36 points in the second quarter, but Advance kept pace.
Bell buried four 3-pointers in the game.
Tyler Bowman led Advance with 22 points. Jason Bahr, Eric O'Hare and Jared Ritter each added 12, and Zach Hudson had 13.
Advance will play East Carter County -- which defeated Ellington -- in the District 2 championship game at 6 p.m. Friday.
