Every day for the past nine months I have been able to turn on my radio during my morning drive and hit the AM button and hear a fat, old, orange, bald guy yammer on about things that irritate him. He was constantly ranting about something, whether it was his garbage-can-killing-dog, Led Zeppelin, or describing, in detail, his icky colonoscopy. Doesn't sound like much, but it has been my routine for the past eight months...

Doesn't sound like much, but it has been my routine for the past eight months.

Tony Kornheiser left his radio show last week and left his thousands of fans, including me, heartbroken. I will miss Tony's sharp tongue and wit and especially his story-telling. His humor has even been a source of inspiration for some of my columns.

I think I reach some people through this column and I hope I give them a little chuckle as they drink their coffee every Monday morning, but a newspaper column isn't as personal as the radio. The radio is habitual; because we are creatures of habit it makes it more personal.

I only hope that people will miss me half as much as people miss him when I'm finally done.

In tribute, I rolled the windows down Friday morning and I let the famous, "Hey Tony" song blare through my speakers one last time. I know Tony isn't reading this, but this is a "shout-out" from Cape G.:

If you're out on your bike, during your week ahead, please, do wear white:
