Southeast Missouri State women’s basketball team returns to the Show Me Center to finish the first month of the season with a home game against Harris-Stowe State on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

It’s not been a smooth start to the season for the Redhawks who enter the last game of November 1-4 with their one win coming at home against an NAIA program.

For many mid-major teams like SEMO, the real season begins at the turn of the calendar, when the Redhawks battle for the Ohio Valley Conference title.

With five games into the 2023-24 season, here are the top three players who have been carrying the Redhawks.

The sophomore has made major strides in her second season in the program. With five games into the season, Doyle has gone from averaging six points per game as a freshman to leading the Redhawks at 15.6 PPG. She scored a career-high 21 points during a recent road loss against Missouri State on Nov. 22. Doyle has scored double-digits in all but one game so far this season.

__Jaliyah Green__

The Junior has been relied on for outside shooting this season. Green scored 22 points during the Redhawks’ close road loss at Northwestern on Nov. 19, where she shot 4-of-10 from the three-point line. The Redhawks' recent loss at Missouri State was the first game this season Green has not scored at least 15 points. She’s also a guard who can be relied on to crash the boards, as averages a team-leading 4.4 rebounds per game.

__Amiyah Buchanan__

Among the freshmen, the forward from Evansville, In, is the most balanced, as she is averaging eight points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game, which ties for the team lead. Buchanan’s best game came on the road against UIC on Nov. 17, where she scored 11 points and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds in 19 minutes. She is definitely in contention for SEMO’s 6th man of the year.
