A cofferdam is being built by workers in preparation for construction of a new bridge on Highway 34 over Cane Creek, west of Jackson; Robinson Construction of Perryville, Missouri, is the contractor for the $1.14 million project. Motorists traveling between Cape Girardeau and Jackson will soon find the going easier, as asphalt paving on the Highway 61 project should be completed within the next two weeks; work will still need to be done on the shoulders of the highway, drainage and on grading and seeding of the ground abutting the highway.. ...
