Thomas - 60 years

MILLER CITY, Ill. -- Mr. and Mrs. Vernon "Jack" Thomas of Miller City celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner and reception Sept. 1, 2007, at Mack's BBQ in Cairo, Ill. Hosts were their children.

Thomas and Genevieve Vaughn were married Sept. 6, 1947, in Harrisburg, Ill.

The anniversaries of three of their four children were also celebrated: Aron and Beverly Whitmore of Miller City, 35 years; Kenton and Paula Thomas of Olive Branch, Ill., 29 years, and Jimmy and Robin Thomas of Cape Girardeau, 25 years. A granddaughter, Erikia Davis and husband Tony were married on her grandparents 50th anniversary.

In addition to Beverly, Kenton and Jimmy, the couple has another daughter, Mitzi Thomas of Olive Branch.

They have six grandchildren, Erikia Davis, Kyle Whitmore, Adam, Ivan, Jared and Dylan Thomas; and two great-grandchildren, Adyn and Audrey Davis.
