Smith - 50 Years

Mr. and Mrs. Truman Smith of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 3, 2011.

The couple made a trip to Arkansas and Louisiana, and visited their wedding trip site in Harrison, Ark., and Branson, Mo.

Their Sunday school class of First Baptist Church in Jackson hosted a dinner June 13 at Delmonico's in Jackson.

Smith and Ruth Brantly were married June 3, 1961, at Memorial Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Ark., by the Rev. J.C. Melton. Their attendants were Jerilyn Bledsoe and Don Norman.

The couple has two children, Darrick (Tanda) Smith of Cape Girardeau, and Rebecca (David) Wichern of Jackson. They have five grandchildren, Blake, Lexi and Megan Smith, Sarah and Rachel Wichern, all of the Cape Girardeau area.
