Roberts mark golden event

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Robert of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and reception Oct. 3, 2003, at Holiday Inn.

Hosts were their daughters and sons-in-law, Jacalyn and Bob McComb of Lubbock, Texas, and Candice and Jim Kraushaar of New Port Beach, Calif.

Robert and Flora Balsmann were married Oct. 3, 1953, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, Mo., by the Rev. Deck.

The Roberts have two granddaughters, Courtney and Rachel, of New Port Beach.
