Two classes of 30 trained to handle building collapse rescues Sunday during the Southeast Missouri Regional Fire School at a house near Fruitland; normally, the class is limited to about 25 firefighters, but the school added an extra class and a second instructor because of the earthquake-related interest.

Taking a long-range shot, the first time in his life he had fired at geese, Rudy Heise of Cape Girardeau, a bank clerk, killed three honkers while he and Billy Strain were hunting Sunday south of Commerce, Missouri.
