About 50 persons attended the Cape Boosters Sales Division meeting held last night at the Colonial Restaurant, as the drive to raise $200,000 for industrial development was officially launched; the sales campaign is designed to raise funds to buy up to 120 acres of property now owned by the Armstrong Cork Co.; the land would be developed for sale or lease to industries.

Cape Girardeau Central High School, winner of the first North Division football title of the Southeast Missouri Activities Association, dominates the All-Conference first team selections; Central's grid team lands five players on the first team: end Mark Headrick, guards Lester Miller and Walter Vandivort, and backs Jim Stovall and Paul Banks.

A confirmation service is held in the morning at B'Nai Israel Synagogue for Bernard Garfinkle of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; the service is conducted by Joseph L. Wastien, the Hebrew teacher; other events at the synagogue this week will center around the observance of Chanukah, the Jewish feast of dedication.

France Brooks, a farmer living east of Jackson, was injured yesterday while working at a wood saw on the farm of Ed Strack; a pulley on the machine broke, and three pieces struck Brooks; one cut a large wound on his right leg above the knee, a smaller piece cut the left leg at about the same height, and a third and larger part struck his left foot, crushing it considerably.

Thanksgiving Day. Several churches hold Thanksgiving services in the morning.

A surprise gathering at Lorimier School yesterday honored May Greene for her 30 years as a teacher in Cape Girardeau; the reunion brought together a large crowd of former pupils of Greene.
