Union Pacific Railroad officials say the railroad will continue to serve the Cape Girardeau area despite the loss of the only train that is regularly using the UP tracks into Cape Girardeau; the coal train, which operated from Cape Girardeau to the Union Electric Co. power plant in Jefferson City, Missouri, made its last run yesterday.
The shuttle flight of astronaut Linda Godwin, a native of Oak Ridge, has been postponed until November; the shuttle Discovery, on which Godwin, 37, is a mission specialist, will launch Nov. 1 to deploy the Gamma Ray Observatory.

An order of formal publication in connection with a condemnation suit in the proposed wildlife restoration project of the government in the Mingo sector near Puxico, Missouri, was made by Judge George Hoore in Federal Court here yesterday; the suit is for condemnation of a tract of 144 acres, in the south end of Wayne County; a series of other similar suits is expected to be filed, probably on land in Stoddard County.
