Show Me Center director David Ross says construction of a 30,000-square-foot addition to the center would provide needed convention and meeting space; in a proposal to the city, Ross suggested some of the motel and restaurant tax revenue be used to help fund construction of an addition on the south side of the Show Me Center.

After transacting 45 minutes worth of business, the city council adjourns to meet Thursday morning in connection with a hearing commissioner Edwin J. Bean of the State Public Service Commission will hold to determine the merits of a request of the Missouri Utilities Co. that the plans for an intake tower in the river above Cape Girardeau be changed to an intake pipe only.
