Henry Wilhelm, 81, a prominent farmer living about five miles northwest of Jackson, in the Schoenbeck neighborhood, met a serious accident yesterday while attending the fair; he was leaving the floral hall and slipped coming down the stairs; he fell heavily, sustaining a compound fracture of one hip.
The racing at the fairgrounds is about the best ever seen here; two of the races are closely contested and a third is close enough to make it a great exhibition for lovers of fast nags.
