Trail of Tears State Park north of Cape Girardeau is one of five sites to be certified this year as historic site along Trail of Tears National Historic Trail.

Hundreds of people from Southeast Missouri gather in Cape Girardeau for Dairy Day program at Courthouse Park and to witness awarding of 10 dairy cows; principal speaker at Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event is A.J. McDowell, dairy superintendent for Frisco Railroad.
