The New Life Fellowship, 720 Bertling St., has been reincorporated under the name New Life World Outreach Center; the church was founded in 1978 by the pastor, Jack Cathcart.
The Rev. Stephen A. Schneider has been named pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Jackson effective Aug. 12; he will replace the Rev. William Stanton; the Rev. Kenneth Grass will succeed the Rev. Martin Culligan as pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Cape Girardeau.

U.S. Engineering boat No. 10 is at Cape Girardeau several hours, allowing the engineers to examine the government gauge and tell just how shallow the river really is.
