BLODGETT, Mo. -- A light airplane went into a spin and crashed in a field near here yesterday afternoon, killing the three Illinois men aboard; the victims were identified as the pilot, Ralph Crocker, 47, of Alton; Theodore H. Couch, 31, of Godfrey, and James W. Barth, 31, of East Alton.

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Two hangar-type steel buildings at the Sikeston Airport, being occupied by the Sikeston Ceramics Co., were destroyed by fire overnight; 25 to 30 feet on either side of the structures are an airplane hangar and a converted frame barracks being used as a public elementary school; they were only scorched.

Dr. Fred M. Bailey, superintendent of the St. Louis District of the Methodist Church, is guest speaker at Centenary Methodist Church; Bailey is completing his fourth year as head of the St. Louis District of the old Methodist Episcopal Church, which included Grace Methodist Church here; he speaks at Grace Church in the evening.

The Rev. Marvin C. Reichert, pastor of the English Lutheran Church, and his wife depart in the afternoon for vacation in Davenport, Iowa, and in Minnesota; during the pastor's absence, the preaching will be done by Martin Luther Hahs, a Teachers College student.

Arthur Kriehn, superintendent for the architectural firm of Felt & Co., is prepared to serve written notice on contractors Vogelsang Brothers to stop work on the central public school building until they comply with their contract for the erection of the big building; while the builders claim they are acting within the contract, Kriehn says they are using lighter material than specifications call for.

Gypsy fortune tellers are making a house-to-house peddle of their black art in various parts of the city; however, not much silver has changed hands.
