The city of Cape Girardeau and the U.S. Geological Survey will conduct a long-range precipitation and storm-water survey of three major waterways here in developing a comprehensive storm-water management plan; the survey will study Ramsey Creek, Cape LaCroix-Walker Creek and Sloan's Creek.

The city council has instructed police chief D.A. Nichols to notify the manager of the Haarig theater that he must remove at once all the paint signs that were placed on the sidewalks of the city Sunday night; many residents have complained about the paint smeared on the city's walks.
The people living in the little houseboats and shacks on the levee near the Frisco Railroad shops have been served with notice by the Frisco special agents that they must vacate the houses in 10 days; the people are making a great fight to save their small homes.
