Construction work continues at the city's new park on U.S. 61; chances for a fair at the new park this fall, however, appear to be slim; the big arena likely cannot be put into first-class, usable shape by early fall; a small show may still be held late in autumn.
During Sunday's golf match between the Hillcrest Club and the Country Club on the Hillcrest course, Jack Knehans of Country Club shot a hole-in-one, only the second time it has been done on the sporty course; the feat came on Hole 9, a 205-yard drive; the other hole-in-one was scored in 1937 by Joe Heilig.
