Thieves took 23 machines valued at more than $5,000 in a break-in at the Illmo-Fornfelt-Ancell High School last night; it is the second time the school has been entered within a two-week period; on the night of April 29, would-be thieves did considerable damage to the vault but failed in the attempted theft.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- An amendment appropriating $45,000 for a dormitory at the Cape Girardeau Normal School fails to get Senate approval because of last-minute maneuverings of the Warrensburg member; the money would have purchased Leming Hall, which was built through the generosity of Louis Houck, Leon J. Albert and M.E. Leming.
