JEFFERSON CITY -- A total of $34,593 is paid by the State Social Security Commission for the support of 2,981 dependent children during March; of that number, 13 children live in Cape Girardeau County and received a total of $163, or an average of $12.52 each; this is the first amount for children's aid allowed in Cape County; the funds will, like old-age assistance, be paid directly to the family for which it is intended.
