Six Cape Girardeau County citizens seek a restraining order to prevent County Clerk Rodney Miller from having election judges place marks beside the names of registered voters who take Democratic ballots in Tuesday's presidential primary.

Republican Bob Dole, who is polling slightly before Vice President George Bush on the eve of Missouri's presidential primary, addresses a campaign rally at the airport in Cape Girardeau in the evening.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Perry County voters will go to the polls Tuesday to vote on a proposal to bring all existing 44 county school districts under one reorganized district; this will be the fifth time for such an election in Perry County.

Louis R. Stone, field representative for the Social Security Administration district office in Cape Girardeau, files as a candidate for election to the school board.

WASHINGTON -- President Franklin D. Roosevelt nominates Harry C. Blanton of Sikeston, Mo., for reappointment as U.S. District Attorney for the eastern district of Missouri.

Regional basketball tournament honors safely tucked away as a result of a sparkling 25-17 victory over the Jackson Indians Saturday, the College High Preps have their sights set on a state title, to be decided at Columbia this weekend; members of coach Eugene McDonald's team are Bud Blattner, Herbert Brase, C.W. Utley, George Wessell, Arthur Siemers, Elmer Newburn, Dewey Keller, Royce Fleener and Herbert Nussbaum.

So many Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Oak Ridge and Fornfelt boosters want to attend the meeting of the Southeast Missouri Federation of Commercial Clubs in Poplar Bluff, Mo., on March 12, that the Frisco has agreed to furnish a special train to leave here about noon, reaching Poplar Bluff about 3 p.m.

Andrew "Big Andy" Caldwell of Jackson leaves in the morning for Kewanee, Ill., to take up his duties as a professional baseball player; he's expected to reach out for the laurels of Ty Cobb, Charles Tessreau and the rest of the stars.
