Commission on Retirement, Removal and Discipline of Judges is seeking additional information in its investigation into political activities of Scott County Circuit Judge Lloyd G. Briggs of Sikeston; investigation has been stepped up in view of Gov. Joseph P. Teasdale appointing Briggs judge of 33rd Judicial Circuit March 14.

Curfew for Cape Girardeau teenagers has been given overwhelming approval in poll taken by pupils at St. Mary's High School.

Orpheum Theater building, in which first color movies and first talking pictures in Cape Girardeau were shown, has been purchased by Lester Rhodes from Fox Theater interests and will be converted to business use.

75 years ago: March 31, 1929

In perfect weather, Girardeans observe Easter in temperature that almost does credit to mid-summer; mercury during afternoon reaches 80 and continues high until late in night.

Dozens of people are injured, some seriously, and buildings are demolished in storm of tornado intensity which sweeps through portions of Southeast Missouri district during night.
