John Oliver of the Oliver law firm, located in the H.-H. Building, reports that property at 418 Broadway, adjacent to that structure, will be cleared out soon and made ready for additional parking next to an existing parking area at the H.-H. Building.

A Missouri State Teachers Association legislative brunch, attended by 180 educators from 40 school districts, is held in Cape Girardeau; among speakers is Mike Lord of Columbia, Mo., assistant executive secretary for the MSTA and a lobbyist in Jefferson City.

50 years ago: March 30, 1960

Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Gaylor say they will open a second shoe store in Cape Girardeau in the location recently vacated by the Gaylor's Shoe Store at 104 N. Main St.; the store, to be known as the Outlet Shoe Store, will be managed by Clark Hovis; the new Gaylor's Shoe is in new and larger quarters almost directly across the street.

H.D. Cook, who has been high school principal at Steele, Mo., has been employed as school superintendent at Delta, succeeding Edwin R. Upchurch.

75 years ago: March 30, 1935

Purchase of the capitol stock of the Girardot Investment Co., owner of the Hotel Idan-Ha building, by Bruce Decker, owner of Decker Hotel Co., which has been operating the hostelry since October 1930, is announced.

The fourth annual kite-flying carnival proved to be a success yesterday at May Greene School, with pupils entering 177 kites; the brisk breeze tried the skill of the youngsters.

100 years ago: March 30, 1910

Stein & Lance, the Broadway millers, are contemplating adding a fine bakery to their big milling operation; if they do, they will be able to furnish a full-weight loaf of bread for a cheaper price than is now being paid; their mill is one of the largest in Southeast Missouri.

Randol School has finished a most successful term under the director of James McDowell; for the first time, the school has had a class finish the eighth-grade work; the three graduates are Ernest W. Weis, Walter Brinkopf and Earl Erwin.
