Saying they can no longer maintain the Evangelization Center, the Provincial Administration of the Vincentian Fathers announces plans to sell the former St. Vincent's College at Cape Girardeau, which in recent years housed the center.
After being offered as the site for the veterans' nursing home and for a Department of Conservation nature center, Klaus Park may eventually be further developed as a park, according to Cape Girardeau County Presiding Commissioner Gene Huckstep; the 35-acre tract is along Interstate 55, across from where the veterans' home is being built.
A building for the display of animals and fish during fair week and for year-round shelter and picnic use will be built at Arena Park this year, a cooperative venture of the State Conservation Commission, SEMO District Fair Association and the city.

Contractors of Cape Girardeau are talking of combining in order to reach an understanding in regard to the request of the carpenters' union for an increase in wages; carpenters are now receiving 37 1/2 cents an hour, but are requesting 40 cents an hour.
The Cape Girardeau School Board will meet tonight to consider plans for the improvement of Lincoln School; architect W.E. Parlow has drawn plans to modernize the old building, as well as to add four splendid new rooms.
