The Rev. and Mrs. Donald L. McGregor, on their first furlough since going in 1958 to Manila in the Philippine Islands as missionaries, will speak Monday evening at Foursquare Church.

1938

Sprigg Street, the longest street in Cape Girardeau, has more vehicular accidents than any other of the city's busy streets; records show that during the last five years, there have been 82 collisions on Sprigg, which is far more than any other street.

The property at the southeast corner of Spanish and Themis streets is sold by Mrs. Ollie "Ma" Kopper to W.H. Bohnsack; plans are being made for improvement of that tract and construction of a new building to the east, where the former Elks Building stood; Bohnsack isn't sure in what way he will rebuild his property.

1913

The Rev. Herbert Yeuell is exhibiting some of the finest blending transparencies and motion pictures at the Normal School which were ever brought to Cape Girardeau; Friday night his subject was "Quo Vadis" and his pictures dealt with ancient and modern Rome; Saturday night he showed pictures of Paris and told the story of Napoleon; tonight he will show motion pictures of a trip along the Rhine River.

The Frisco ordinance, providing for the improvement of the riverfront, is passed unanimously by the Cape Girardeau City Council; the ordinance will permit the Frisco Railroad to build only 600 feet of concrete wall, walk and parkway and then a stretch of riprap work.
