PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Cape Girardeau and Jackson city officials met for two-and-a-half hours here last night in what both sides describe as "fruitful discussions" toward trying to resolve an annexation dispute; no agreement was reached.
New barge tow restrictions have gone into effect on the Mississippi River between St. Louis and Cairo, Ill., as the river continues to drop to midsummer record low levels.
