Cape Girardeau County Circuit Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. has upheld the legality of Cape Girardeau's gross sales license tax; the judge issued the ruling Tuesday in a case brought by three auto dealers: Kingsway Nissan, Van Matre Motor Co., and Cape GMC-Pontiac Inc.
Anti-abortion advocate Julia A. Kridelbaugh has filed as a candidate for the Cape Girardeau City Council in the April election.
Cape Girardeau's newest musical organization is the Boys' Choir of the Campus Elementary School; formed in October, the choir sang Wednesday for the Thanksgiving assembly of Campus High School; the group is made up of boys from third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades.

Members of the Benton Literary Society at Teachers College are trying to raise $800 to be used as a down payment on a residence, which would be used in the manner of a fraternity house; the house the Bentons are proposing to buy is the former McBride residence on the northwest corner of Sprigg and North streets.
Six of the front doors for the arena building at the new city park arrived yesterday and were delivered to the building; at present, there are only 20 men working at the project, but around 55 men should be at the park by Dec. 1.
