Fire early yesterday morning razed the flight control building at municipal airport, destroying the office and communication facilities of Cape Central Airways and Ozark Air Lines, resulting in temporary cancellation of regular service for Cape Girardeau.

Thanksgiving sees the first real hint of winter in Cape Girardeau, with rain, sleet and cold temperatures; during the day, the Salvation Army workers deliver 40 baskets of food to the needy; later, union religious services draw nearly 300 persons to the First Baptist Church.

The sleet and rain don't hamper the spirits of football fans; more than 3,000 spectators watch as the Central High Tigers down the Jackson High Indians 7-0 on a slippery Houck Stadium field.

Depositions in a land suit which the Himmelberger-Harrison Land and Lumber Co. has brought are taken in the morning at Common Pleas Courthouse, with Louis Houck of Cape Girardeau being on the stand a long time as witness; the company is suing former Rep. Lowndes H. Davis, now of Huntsville, Ala., and Manning Kimmel of Henderson, Ky., for the possession of a section of land each.

Secretary Viernow of the smelter company came to Cape Girardeau from St. Louis yesterday and today is paying off the men who are at work on the plant.
