Garland D. Fronabarger, 88, photographer for more than six decades, most of them with the Southeast Missourian newspaper, dies at Southeast Missouri Hospital; Fronabarger, well known as "One-Shot Frony," was reporter and staff photographer during 1920s, 1930s and into 1940s before becoming free-lance photographer; he is survived by one son, John W. Fronabarger of Phoenix, Ariz.
Department of Mental Health Regional Center in Sikeston, in cooperation with Missouri Autism Project, is initiating plans to open center in Southeast Missouri to serve families with autistic children.

Initiative petition drive for establishment of nursing home district in northern Scott County has begun; leader in campaign, Abram Hirschowitz of Oran, says he hopes issue can be brought before voters next spring; similar issue was voted down in Scott County about five years ago because of heavy negative vote in Sikeston area; that is why district lines have been drawn to include only northern half of county.
Establishment of foundation to receive endowment and other funds, and to oversee any fund development programs and health care facilities, is announced by officials of Southeast Missouri Hospital.
50 years ago: Nov. 22, 1952
Augustine R. Antoine, 69, prominent in French music circles for many years and winner of government's Palmes Academiques for his competency, died last night at home of his son, Professor Roger Antoine, in Cape Girardeau, with whom he lived since coming to United States in 1949; he married Irma Guerin in 1906 and she survives, along with son and daughter, two sisters and two brothers.
Nearly 400 Cape Girardeau County 4-H Club members were served buffet supper and entertained last night at Arena Building, in Chamber of Commerce program designed to encourage 4-H Club work; dinner followed tour of business and industrial plants during day.
75 years ago: Nov. 22, 1927
Several changes to building ordinance for Cape Girardeau have been proposed; city council will consider tentative ordinance that would make city engineer the building inspector with power to select assistants; he would also head Department of Building and Inspection; department, however, would still be under supervision of city commissioner.
At noon, Peck Auditing Co. announces total subscriptions to new railroad fund to be $52,199.34; finance committee discusses matter and decides that it is now up to special right-of-way committee to get substantial reductions from landowners.
