Thousands of shoppers make day of craft hunting in Cape Girardeau; two craft shows at three locations draw Christmas shoppers and craft fans by thousands; more than 600 exhibitors are selling items at two shows.
The Southeast Missourian will publish Saturday editions on next five weekends; Saturday publications will be delivered to all subscribers and will be available at newsracks at normal price; Gary Rust, publisher, says, "We're testing the market. Advertisers and readers have asked for a Saturday publication. Ultimately, we will publish the newspaper seven days a week."

Incumbent Paul W. Stehr says he is still undecided about seeking third term on Cape Girardeau City Council, but acknowledges he soon must make decision since deadline for filing is but a month away.
Off-duty air traffic controllers set up informational picket at Cape Girardeau Municipal Airport and airports nationwide in attempt to inform public of controllers contract dispute with Federal Aviation Administration; contract negotiations between controllers and FAA were initiated last May and ended in mid-September, when FAA walked out on bargaining session.
50 years ago: Nov. 21, 1952
Delay in seeking bids for gymnasium unit of new high school until spring appears possibility, although Board of Education members say they would still seek way to award contract sooner if at all possible; behind reluctance to wait until spring to place gym under contract is to have it ready for use next September when classroom and music units of four-unit structure are to be ready to receive classes.
Over 60 of art pieces which will appear in Missourian Art Exhibition this weekend are work of Cape Girardeau artists; Missourian companies have issued cordial invitation to everyone to view work of these Girardeans and artists from 17 other area towns.
75 years ago: Nov. 21, 1927
Plans and estimates of cost of proposed Kingshighway route for U.S. 61 through New Madrid and Scott counties are delivered to Kingshighway Association, the advocates of selection of that route; total cost of Kingshighway route is $2,233,986; distance, as given in report, is 60.684 miles; route virtually follows present Kingshighway, with exception of few cutoffs south of Benton.
Adolph Jacob, 53, herdsman at Louis C. Blattner dairy farm on Bloomfield Road, two miles southwest of Cape Girardeau, is crushed and fatally injured by bull on farm at 10:30 a.m.; he dies 30 minutes after being attacked by enraged animal.
