Southeast Missouri Hospital plans to open an outreach facility at Doctors Park and provide shuttle service between the park and the hospital on Lacey Street; the facility, which is scheduled to open the first week of January, will occupy 37 Doctors Park, formerly the location of Broadway's Park Pharmacy.

Workers begin breaking up the rough surfacing of seven blocks of Independence Street, between Frederick Street and Park Avenue; the improvement is being made jointly by the city of Cape Girardeau, the Cape Special Road District and the Missouri Pacific Railroad; the railroad has track running along most of the street concerned.
C.T. Fricke, local manager of the traffic bridge, reports that owners of the span will come here from Toledo, Ohio, this week to discuss proposals for the purchase of the bridge; Andy Juden, among others, is offering plans for the purchase; Juden would like the county court to buy the bridge, if it could be secured on reasonable terms.
