In a special congregational meeting held last night, members of the new St. Andrew Lutheran Church unanimously voted to extend a call the Rev. Francis Roschke, pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Lemay, Mo.

The Hartle farm west of Millersville will be the scene Friday of a sale of livestock and farm equipment; the sale is being conducted by Edwin L. Kies and Dr. C. Rush McAdams, who have sold the farm to Dan H. Frissell; the sale will include 240 head of livestock.

75 years ago: Oct. 31, 1932

CAMPBELL, Mo. -- The municipal light plant here is still operating, although federal court Judge C.B. Faris Saturday found the town's officials and Fairbanks, Morse & Co., guilty of civil contempt for keeping the plant going after he had issued an injunction shutting it down; the court has ordered the payment of all profits of the city plant, operated since 1930, to the Arkansas-Missouri Power Co., which contends it has the franchise to run the utility until 1935.

John F. Hartle and Woodrow Estel, both former star athletes of Jackson High School, have made the freshman football team at Tulsa (Okla.) University.

100 years ago: Oct. 31, 1907

Work on the dome of the new county courthouse in Jackson has come to a standstill; last week workers began covering the dome with zinc rather than copper, as the plans specify; with the county threatening to take the matter to court, the contractor has stopped work until the disagreement can be settled.

The New Era club, an organization of young men, hosts a Halloween masque ball at West End Hall; the Kassel orchestra provides the music.
