The city of Cape Girardeau is adding more court dates and hours in order to reduce lengthy delays in Municipal Court cases; beginning in January, Judge Ed Calvin will be hearing cases all day every Tuesday at city hall; currently, the court meets every Tuesday afternoon from 1 to 5 p.m., and again from 8 p.m. until the docket is completed.
The Cape Girardeau School Board adopts a 1988-1989 budget with $16,196,791 in anticipated expenditures and $16,898,704 anticipated receipts.
The Cape Girardeau city airport board has interviewed three engineers in connection with the possible extension of the runway at the municipal airport; the engineers -- Lennie O. Whitworth Jr. of Sikeston, Mo., and representatives of R.M. Harrison Co. and Horner and Shifrin, both of St. Louis -- also have been in touch with the Federal Aviation Agency about Cape Girardeau's runway problem.

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- W.H. Mogg, the freight agent here, has tendered his resignation and will retire as soon as his replacement arrives; J.G. Sarius, agent at Crystal City, Mo., will be appointed to the position, it is said; he was the agent at Cape Girardeau before going to Crystal City.
L.K. Juden and Fred Groves returned home last night from St. Louis, where they spent a few days attending the big automobile show and taking in the Veiled Prophet festivities.
