Among real estate transfers recently recorded at Jackson is one by which the trustees of the Round Pond Baptist Church, formerly the Hickory Ridge Baptist Church, transferred the property of the church to the Cape County Baptist Association; a small sum will be realized from the sale of the 1.05 acres of land, the old building, the benches and the bell; the proceeds will be added to the fund for the rehabilitation of the old Bethel Church site.
President Wurdack of the water and light company was in Cape Girardeau yesterday with blueprints of the proposed improvements of the water and light plants; it is proposed to build a settling basin near the present ones that will more than double the city's water-storage capacity; in addition, a large new pipe will be run from the pumping station to the reservoir on Normal Hill, connecting at several places with the main arteries running into different parts of town; every street in the town that has houses to speak of will have water service.
Professor C.P. Coley, principal of the Moothart Business College in Cape Girardeau, confirms that he has arranged to buy the school.
