Leimer and Vera Lichtenegger were married Oct. 7, 1945, at St. John's Church. Members of the wedding party attending were Elsie Seibel, Laverne Puchbauer, Marjorie Leimer, Floyd Lichtenegger and Ron Kasten.

The Leimers lived most of their married life on a farm north of Pocahontas. They moved to Fruitland in 1981, and then to Saxony Village in 2000.

Their children and spouses are Connie and David Hoffman of St. Louis, Ted and Kathy Leimer and Fred and Lisa Leimer of Jackson. Their grandchildren include Heather and Mike Little and Erica and Dean Eggerding of St. Louis, Christy and Melissa Leimer, Austin Leimer, and Alex and Logan Harris of Jackson; and a great-grandchild, Cole Eggerding of St. Louis.
