Hinton - 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hinton of Jackson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner July 1, 2007, at the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Hosts were their children and spouses.

Hinton and Ann Steimle were married July 6, 1957, at St. Mary's Cathedral by the Rev. Robert Schumacher. Their attendants were Ann Knaup of Jackson, Nancy Irvine of Reno, Nev., Benny Hinton of Jackson, and the late Jerry Wulfers.

Their children and spouses are Greg and Lavon Hinton of Wappapello, Mo., Jon and Sandy Hinton and David and Lesa Hinton of Cape Girardeau, Steve and Jamie Hinton and Laure Upchurch of Jackson, Susan Hinton and Paul Schuchert of New York City.

They have 14 grandchildren, Erika, Emily, Erin and Ryan Upchurch, Kelli, Kyle and Kris of Jackson; Kristen, Kevin, Ben, Joshua and Adam of Cape Girardeau; Eli and Maya Schuchert of New York City; and a great-grandchild, Kayli Johnson of Jackson.
