There were several inaccuracies or unclear explanations reported in Sunday's article and corresponding graphics on Southeast Missouri State University's enrollment figures. An outdated enrollment figure was used in a caption and in the body of the story. The correct four-week enrollment for Southeast was 11,917.
It should have been stated this was the 13th consecutive record-breaking enrollment. Southeast has increased its enrollment 19 straight years.
According to the official enrollment, the university saw a 1.6 percent increase.
These two graphics are being reprinted to clarify and correct two specific points.
The five-year line chart showing the enrollment trend of St. Louis students should have stated they were beginning freshmen.
In the pie chart, several counties have been added to reflect the correct number of counties included in the 44-percent portion of students from the surrounding area. A disclaimer was added, explaining how the St. Louis market was represented.
The Southeast Missourian regrets the errors.
