Correction 11/8/08

The op-ed column, "Universal health care" by Dr. John V. Mackel on Friday's Opinion page should have said, "Funding for the 100 million-plus additional services makes it [reduced access and waiting lists] inevitable, unless accompanied by a large budget increase, an impossibility in the current economic situation."
