Guests attended from Missouri, Illinois and Texas. Special music was sent from Buckner's brother and sister-in-law who live in England.

Buckner and Melba Jane Hitt were married Sept. 19, 1961, at Wesleyan Methodist Church in Ancell, by the Rev. John Hedland. Their attendants were Betty Koechig and the late Donald Seabaugh.

Mrs. Buckner is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hitt. Buckner is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buckner.

The couple has two children, Roger (Missy) Buckner and Pam (David) Goodin of Scott City. They have six grandchildren, Jared and Jordan Weiss, Derek and Travis Goodin, Levi and Tori Buckner; and a great-grandchild, Colton Weiss.
