Mrs. Long is the former Ashley Strong, daughter of Dale and Karla Warren of Patton, and Matt and Anna Strong of Marble Hill, Mo. Long is the son of Jackie Long of Marble Hill, and the late Rev. Eddie Long. He is a welder at American Railcar Industries.

Brown

Daughter to Jason C. and Bridget C. Brown of Scott City, Southeast Missouri Hospital, 5:38 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008. Name, Matilda Autumn. Weight, 7 pounds, 12 ounces. Mrs. Brown is the former Bridget Costello, daughter of Judy Costello and Paul Costello of Eureka, Mo. She is an editor at Southern Illinois University. Brown is the son of Sherry Brown and Lonnie Brown of Marble Hill, Mo. He is operations director at Southeast Public Radio.

Shavers

Son to Travis Wade and Larkin Louise Shavers of Cape Girardeau, Southeast Missouri Hospital, 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008. Name, Travis Wade Jr. Weight, 7 pounds, 15 ounces. Third child, first son. Mrs. Shavers is the former Larkin Neal, daughter of Lora Neal of Milwaukee. Shavers is the son of Kim Poole of Cape Girardeau and Roger Shavers of Jefferson City, Mo.

Durrant

Son to Denzel Toriel Smith and Whitney Vanessa Durrant of Cape Girardeau, Southeast Missouri Hospital, 9:03 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008. Name, Amos Joal Toriel. Weight, 6 pounds, 9 ounces. Second child, first son. Ms. Durrant is the daughter of Thelreal Durrant of Cape Girardeau and John Durrant of Jamaica.
